Angeles Vision Center was established in 1983 by Dr Rodman Sandoval and Dr Raymundo Garza. Since then Dr Garza has retired. The clinic was established as a full service family practice serving the vision and eye care needs of our pediatrics, adults and senior patients. Dr Sandoval and his staff are all fluent in Spanish.
Dr Sandoval provides comprehensive eye examinations to fit and prescribe single vision, bifocal and progressive eyeglasses. He fits all brands and types of contact lenses including soft, gas permeable, soft torics for astigmatism, bifocal contacts, monovision, colored contacts and specialty lenses for medical conditions such as keratoconus, aphakia, and corneal transplants.
We are a Primary Eye Care practice licensed to treat and or manage red eye, dry eye, allergic conjunctivitis, eye infections, iritis, glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, pterygia, macular degeneration, LASIK management as well as most ocular disorders. Our office is fully equiped with the most recent technology to manage these conditions. We aslo have an optical lab on premises.

Dr Sandoval received his Doctorate degree in Optometry from the prestigious University of California at Berkeley in 1981. He also received a Bachelor of Science degree in Optometry from U.C Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Microbiology from the California State Polytechnic University. His internships include: Ocular Pathology clinic at the Veterans Naval Hospital in San Francisco, Low Vision clinic at the Veterans Hospital in Palo Alto, and at several American Indian reservations in Northern California.
His education includes a wide variety of studies encompassing the following: binocular vision disorders, contact lens theory and practice, low vision evaluation, anatomy, physiological optics, optics, physiology, physics, chemistry, microbiology, systemic and ocular pathology detection, neurology, and pharmacology, as well as other associated topics.
After receiving his first Bachelors of Science degree in Medical Microbiology he worked as a Laboratory Technologist in several hospital settings including the world renowned City of Hope Medical Center. After receiving his Doctorate of Optometry degree in 1981, he has practiced Optometry in a variety of clinical settings including: opthalmology, LASIK, HMO, commercial, and private practices.
He realized his goal of starting his own private practice in 1983, by opening his Orange County office in Santa Ana, CA, where he has been practicing for 30 years. During his 32 year career he started and sold several optometry practices in Phillips Ranch, Anaheim, and Newport Beach.
Dr Sandoval has been certified in Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents, and in Glaucoma management. He is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), the California Optometric Association (COA), the Inland Empire Optometric Association, and has been licensed to practice in Optometry in the State of California since 1981. As a State of California licensed Optometrist he meets and exceeds 50 hours of continuing education requirement every two years in a variety of settings including the U.C. Berkeley, School of Optometry, and the Southern California College of Optometry among others.
